About Mead

Mead School recognizes and respects the uniqueness of each child.  Our mission is to develop a dynamic learning environment of “Mutual Respect and High Expectations” so that all students can reach their full potential.

We also believe that it is important to foster a love of learning in each student. Our curriculum skillfully weaves fundamental skills and practical disciplines into every day academics.  Students learn to follow their curiosity, to think creatively, and to work both independently and cooperatively with others.

At Mead School we celebrate diversity and strive to instill integrity, compassion, and confidence in each child.  We give each child support and encouragement to become his or her own unique self.

In addition to comprehensive language arts, math, science, and social studies, each student attends classes in life skills, music, physical education, technology, science lab,  and art. The school also provides support services for those students who qualify for special education and for struggling learners by our certified interventionists.

Through traditional and project-based learning, students tackle a challenging academic curriculum in ways that are engaging, meaningful, adaptable to a variety of learning styles, and fun.

Our curriculum is tied to the National and State Common Core educational standards.  We are an award winning school and one of the highest performing schools in the district.

Our motto is, “Stay, Safe, Show Respect and Try Our Best!”
